A statement to Tyrants both here and afar…

Recently, Reed Exhibitions an English firm that owns the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show had to cancel due to a boycott on exhibitors who chose to cancel their $1,000 exhibition fee because Reed banned all visible references to assault weapons.

They blocked all sales and advertising by participants and others in a bid to support the flurry of tyrants scheming to subvert the 2nd Amendment.

Exhibitors, including the NRA revolted and cancelled.  The losses to the British firm will likely be substantial.  They recently put out an official announcement placed below my officially sent message to them.  You may read them in whatever order you wish.

Subject:  ES&O Event Cancellation

To:  Chet Burchett, Reed Exhibitions President for the Americas

I read your official announcement on the cancellation of the ES&O Show.  Frankly sir, I believe you missed the point.

America, unlike Britain will not willingly or quietly give up our MSR’s.  Reason?  They are not MSR’s.  [MSR is Reeds euphemism for Modern Sporting Rifle]

They are the last stand of defense against a government bent upon tyrannizing its own citizens.

All other diatribe, ideology and claptrap aside, they are a necessary tool in the kit of American citizens who will not go quietly into the dark night of tyranny.

They adequately did their job in 1776, again in 1812 and will stand at the ready, patiently waiting to be called to duty whenever they may be needed against a threat from without or within.

Despite the fact that after 2 wars where Britain was defeated by them, and despite the UK willingly giving up your own defense against tyranny, you have bet against Americans on this issue and lost.  The losses incurred for the cancellation of this show will directly affect your bottom line as an organization.  Reed Exhibitions has fed upon the interests of the American public and, has again, bit the hand that feeds.  When will you learn?

Our entire approach to the basic fundamental rights of all peoples is diametrically opposed to the worlds of global governance, dominance, and totalitarian elitism.

I will grant you that the weight of those forces may someday topple the last pillar of freedom and liberty on the planet.

However, it would do the world well to be hereby noticed:  We will not go silently.

I’m reminded of two famous quotes that the world should remember:

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”  Edmund Burke (A wise Englishman)

And, “Give me liberty or give me death.” Patrick Henry (A Wise Ex-Englishman)

We here in America shall live… or die, by such ideals.

Reed Exhibitions Official Statement of Cancellation:

Reed Exhibitions has decided to postpone, for now, the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show given the controversy surrounding its decision to limit the sale or display of modern sporting rifles (also called ARs) at the event. The show was scheduled to take place February 2-10 in Harrisburg, PA.

“Our original decision not to include certain products in the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show this year was made in order to preserve the event’s historical focus on the hunting and fishing traditions enjoyed by American families,” said Chet Burchett, Reed Exhibitions President for the Americas. “In the current climate, we felt that the presence of MSRs would distract from the theme of hunting and fishing, disrupting the broader experience of our guests. This was intended simply as a product decision, of the type event organizers need to make every day.

“It has become very clear to us after speaking with our customers that the event could not be held because the atmosphere of this year’s show would not be conducive to an event that is designed to provide family enjoyment. It is unfortunate that in the current emotionally charged atmosphere this celebratory event has become overshadowed by a decision that directly affected a small percentage of more than 1,000 exhibits showcasing products and services for those interested in hunting and fishing.

“ESS has long been proud to participate in the preservation and promotion of hunting and fishing traditions, and we hope that as the national debate clarifies, we will have an opportunity to consider rescheduling the event when the time is right to focus on the themes it celebrates.”
